Portland Academy

Contract Value: £3.9 million

Refurbishment/restoration of the Isle of Portland Aldridge Community Academy at Southwell Business Park. The project consists of the redevelopment of the redundant building into a teaching academy. The building will be refurbished, extended and sections renewed to ensure a larger more practical use for the end user. The school will provide teaching facilities for students from the age of 4 – 19. The building will offer open modern teaching space, theatre, swimming pool, music/art/drama studio and a professional kitchen.

Contract Value: £2.7 million

Rentec are carrying out mechanical and electrical contract work to the Europa House project, a scheme compromising redevelopment to create new high-end student accommodation. The property was previously offices, comprising a 12 storey office block and a three storey annex, all of which will be converted to offer student’s accommodation in the form of studios and two, three and four bed apartments. The accommodation will be aimed at undergraduates in their second and third year of university, post graduates and international students. The six storey car park below the tower is set to be retained as an overflow car park for the Gunwharf Quays shopping complex. The building will be managed 24 hours a day by a student management operator.

Mechanical and Electrical works associated with the construction of a new three storey state-of-the-art clubhouse, together with works to the existing changing rooms. The new facility will be used by the club's 2,800 members and will feature social function facilities, a restaurant and bar, and conference and committee rooms.

Parkstone Yacht Club

Contract Value: £3.3 million

Works to an existing Bournemouth car park for the construction of a stepped building, rising from six to ten storeys in height, together with a seven storey car park.

The apartment building will incorporate 36 one-bedroom, 73 two-bedroom and 4 three-bedroom privately rented apartments, some with private balconies and small gardens. The multi-storey car park will provide spaces for both residents and public parking.

Berry Court, Bournemouth

St Peter's School, Southbourne

Contract Value: £1.3 million

Construction of a 480-pupil primary unit at St Peter's Catholic School. The new premises will be constructed on the school's existing sports field and will consist of 16 classrooms, two art studios, two science labs, a dining hall and kitchen, main hall, changing facilities and staff offices. Externally, the project also includes the construction of four multi-use games areas (MUGA), pitches, associated landscaping and a staff car park.

The project is expected to be completed in late Autumn 2016.
